By The Sea is my creative space, born from my love for working with my hands and exploring different forms of art. My journey began in 2020 in my hometown, Dunedin, New Zealand.

I work with a range of mediums, including photography, acrylic paint, clay, and traditional hand-poked tattooing.

It all started in my family bach on the Otago Harbour in Ōtakou, where the ocean right outside my window became my biggest source of inspiration. Creating by the sea gave me a sense of freedom and a space to express myself.

Naturally, I am very drawn to clay. It allows me to let go in the process and explore ideas as I go; it becomes an intuitive experience that gives me freedom. I am constantly learning and evolving along with my work.

Through this journey, I've discovered the quiet healing that comes with working with clay. Shaping each piece by hand has become a practise of slowing down - regulating my nervous system and bringing me back to the present moment.


Each piece is shaped slowly, embracing the natural imperfections that make handmade work so special. i find so much inspiration in nature, the ocean, and the simple rituals of everyday life. 

my hope is that when one of my pieces finds it way to you, it encourages you to slow down - whether thats through your morning coffee, lighting incense, or simply pausing for a moment to appreciate something shaped by human hands. 

i hope you can feel the quiet essence held within each piece and recognise the care, intention, and presence that went into making it. in a world full of mass production, i believe there is something deeply meaningful about  surrounding ourselves with objects that carry the imprint of the hands that created them.
