ABOUT

By The Sea is my creative space, born from my love for working with my hands and exploring different forms of art. My journey began in 2020 in my hometown, Dunedin, New Zealand, and I’m now based in Mount Maunganui.

I work with a range of mediums, including photography, acrylic painting, clay, and traditional hand-poked tattooing.

It all started in my family bach on the Otago Harbour in Ōtakou, where the ocean right outside my window became my biggest source of inspiration. Creating by the sea gave me a sense of freedom and a space to fully express myself. I believe art evolves with us and has become my favourite form of expression. Creating is our birthright. 

Naturally, I am very drawn to clay. It allows me to let go in the process and explore ideas as I go, it becomes an intuitive experience that gives me freedom. I am constantly learning about ceramics and is something that is kinda addictive.
I feel deeply connected to the medium, and every piece I create carries its own story and  imprint of my hand. its a piece of me.
